Martta Wendelin’s art in the 1920’s and 30’s reflects the period's typical portrayal of a modern-day woman. In Wendelin’s illustrations you can find fashionable flappers, students and urban women, who frequent cafés, parties, and even drive a car. This is the woman of a new age - independent, self-indulgent, and daringly following her time.
